And so it begins…..

Author: tempodiaries

As a landlord and property manager I have encountered some of the most insane, shameless and idiotic behavior one could ever imagine.  I know I’m not the only one who has outlandish stories to tell about being a landlord.  However there are somethings that are so out-of-order – they need to be told.  I guess that by putting it in print  forces  me to accept that people are really touched, loose in the head  or better yet – THEY CRAZY!

Every person who owns or manages property can tell tales of lying, stealing, fire burning, mentally disturbed and violent tenants.  But how about the tenants that kill animals for dinner on your property, drive cars through your property and call the police on you for “harassing them about paying their rent.”  Let’s not forget about inspections on your property which result in shoot outs, tenant fights that leave people stabbed and bloody on your buildings front porch, the bullet holes in your property walls, tenants that slap your maintenance guy or the tenant that purposely throws a chicken bone down the toilet and causes a sewage backup in your entire building  just so they don’t have to pay rent.  These are the tenant stories I want to talk about.

There is never a dull moment in my line of work and I have the war stories to prove it.  Don’t get me wrong it’s not complete mayhem all the time.  We do have moments of happiness, good tenants that make us smile.  However, they are only moments of happiness and long days of crazy.

This blog will tell it all.  As the months come and go I will share my stories in The Landlord Diaries and ask that you join me in this journey, share your thoughts, have a giggle or two but most importantly don’t let this story be about you!  If you’re a tenant be a good tenant and if you’re a landlord may your patience be plentiful.

I have my own crazy stories to tell but some of yours are outright scary! I would move to a safer area if I had to deal with your tenants! Good luck.
